It’s hard to believe I’ve been styling hair for over thirty years. As they say…time flies when you’re having fun! I love creating hairstyles that make people feel good about themselves. My goal is to empower individuals through my craft. I consider myself a lifelong student of the arts and that directly translates into my life’s work whether it’s designing a hairstyle, my space or my gardens.
Aside from the drive to cultivate the aesthetic, I’ve always been drawn to the idea of being self-employed. I fully support the trend in our industry that has encouraged and supported stylists to be independent.
I feel extremely fortunate to be surrounded by the amazing group of stylists at Suite 124 Salon. People often comment about the good vibes in our space. We truly do function as a collective that supports each other while remaining devoted to our craft and clientele.
I’m often asked what I like to do best behind the chair. I honestly love it all. I’ve used Redken color for over 25 years and was inducted as a Redken Artist in 2011.
Many people seek me out to shape their curls which in turn encouraged me to become a certified Deva stylist. I also love using a razor to shape and texturize hair.
It’s likely I have close to another 20 years behind the chair. With that being said, maintaining a healthy work/life balance has definitely become more of a priority. I love spending time with my husband and two teenage boys. I welcome winter so I can hit the slopes on my skies and the remaining seasons are gladly spent in my gardens.
